Juvenile Marron Discovered!

Our recent (Djeran, autumn) survey of the Harvey River Restoration site detected juvenile Smooth Marron for the first time since surveys began in 2018! The two individuals were ~6 months old and provide evidence that the logs that were installed are improving the habitat at the site for this iconic species. Annual autumn surveys will continue track how the abundance of marron at the site increases over time. See the recent news article here for more information.
